We Won a Cruise!!!

Hard to believe! But it's true. We didn't even know it was possible in the Princess Prizes program but apparently it is. So here's the scoop. Per the promotional material, "Princess Prizes is your chance to win big prizes on your cruise, everything from new experiences to free cruises. And it’s easy to play. Just open your stateroom door, and watch your door portal to see if you’ve won. Try as many times as you like while the casino is open! You’ll open the door to win prizes you’ll love like wine tasting, Chef’s Table and so much more!"
In layman's terms, we all have a mini computer screen outside our stateroom doors. As we approach with our medallion, that computer unlocks our door and gives us a pleasant greeting ( Hi, Welcome back etc). But, if you're enrolled in Princess Prizes, it also says either "better luck next time" or you've won something. For a list of prizes, the link is below. We've won $25 credits (about 22 of them), a $250 (1 of them), entries into the end of cruise drawing (about 50), and of course now a cruise, worth $3,000.
The odds of winning $25 is 1 in 500. The Odds of winning a cruise is 1 in 100,000. So we've been pretty lucky.
You may be wondering how we enrolled in Princess Prizes and how much it costs. Firstly, please know that everything on a cruise can be purchased a la carte or in packages. When it's buried in a package, it's hard to say what it costs. A la carte, it's $600 per segment or $3000 for the entire cruise. We didn't do that. We upgraded to the Princess Premier package from Princess Plus for $20/each/day, so $4,440. But, that also includes 6 extra wifi device accesses (2 of which which I needed for laptops cause I'm working and 2 for our tablets), premium drink upgrade ($3 higher limit per drink, so we're drinking all top shelf liquor and wine), a digital copy of all photos taken of us by the onboard photographers and 3 printed photos. I would venture to say of the $4,440, between $1,000-$1,500 is the allocated portion to princess prizes. So for us, it really paid off. We're excited to figure out our next cruise.
We must book and sail within 1 year (like that wasn't going to happen anyway). And we're responsible for port charges, gratuities, excursions and any packages for beverages etc.
As for the day, had EARLY meetings, 3:30 am ship time. So I was done by 9am. I had my longest workout and sauna time. It felt great especially since I skipped yesterday. Breakfast lunch and dinner were standard.
Tomorrow is komodo Island Indonesia. My lovely wife is a bit scared of the dragons so she's staying on board. I have an excursion to hike a park where the dragons run free. They are legitimately worth fearing. They kill about 30 humans a year. They are poisonous and fierce. I saw one bite a goat, which quickly paralyzed it. The dragon then consumed the goat whole, like a snake ingests a rat. They run at a maximum speed of 13 mph. But I don't need to outrun a dragon, just need to outrun the slowest passenger. Did I mention the avg passenger age is 75? My half marathon training will come in handy.
Till tomorrow.
