I always chronical the day in chronological order. But today, I'm going start at the end.....or near it.
Tonight was a formal night. Dressing up in clothes just a wee bit tighter than they were the last formal night is still fun. Our table of 10 has a loyal following now, not the same people each night but most everyone is a returning guest at this point. That's a good sign. The menu had lots of options but surf and turf will always beat out just about anything else. The appetizers were escargot and shrimp bisque. If you're on a statin, take double before reading this, just to be safe.
Conversation was lively and varied, non-stop and pleasant. It's what a meal should be like. So many people eat in front of a TV now a days, and that's a fun diversion; but, good conversation is an art and it takes practice. I'm afraid our current society places a lower value on that aspect of our culture than in the past.
The afternoon was spent in a combination of the hot tub with the wife, the fitness center and the sauna. It was an easy afternoon.
Lunch was a new experience here on ship. The specialty restaurant Sabatini's occasionally opens for lunch, which it did today. The menu was a variety of artisan pizzas. I got pepperoni but to be candid, I prefer the good old fashioned NY kind they serve on the lido deck.
The morning was work...albeit in 2 phases. As a courtesy, I got up at 1am ship time for an important call. But after logging in, I discovered the meeting was cancelled. I did some work and went back to bed. Got up late for me and resumed.
Fairly standard sea day. Tomorrow is Melbourne Australia. Can't wait. So much we want to see and do. Till tomorrow.
