Sea-soning

And just like that, the weather is back to what you'd expect being in the middle of summer between NZ and Australia. Pleasant breezes, lots of people on the Lido deck, easy breezy vacation vibes. As for me, it was a catch up day. We should have been in Wellington NZ today, but due to the cyclone, we're safely at sea. So a sea day was a free day and I chose to catch up on work, catch up on blogs, catch up on organizing pics and so on.

5.5 hrs of work was followed by a 2 hr chat with fellow woodworkers on board. We shared our projects and specialties with each other. I'm planning to build a farmhouse table with the construction leftovers, potentially 2. The legs which would normally be the hard part are the easiest. 6x6 colonial supports that held up the once carport. They are thick and heavy and as I often say about wood, telling me what they want to be.....and these want to be a farmhouse table. I left at noon after a very light lunch for a haircut at the salon. Shockingly it's about what I'd pay at home, $30 incl tip. Nothing fancy, no wash, no dry, just cut. He did a good job.

It's 1pm at this point and too early for my exercise, so I tried my luck at the casino. Still no luck. I'm just a little bit ahead now cruise to date, so I have to decide if it's worth it to continue. I'll keep you posted.

By this point, it's 3pm and a good time to exercise. The boat was VERY rocky today, so instead of jogging, I did a fast walk at 4 miles per hour and therefore did 4 miles, maintaining a light grip the entire time. Balance is an issue on days like today. Lots of people wearing patches behind their ears. So glad neither me or my wife experience sea sickness.

Then the evening routine. Dinner was a valentines theme. We both got filet and I added salmon. Dessert was a chocolate heart....gimmicky but good.

I'm crazy tired after waking at 4am ship time, so the show, while good, was a nap. And here I am getting ready for bed. I have a rare 1am meeting I plan to join, not normal, but important. Hasta manana.
