I promised at the beginning that I would report on the good, bad and ugly. Well, Puntarenas has all three. From the good perspective, it has a mild climate, warm ocean breezes, and a fantastic beach with sand incredibly fine and comfortable to walk on that's a beautiful mocha color. On the bad side, the beach and park that stretch along the shoreline for about 2 mi had a significant amount of trash lying about. From the "ugly" perspective, it's a poor village with locals who depend on the cruise traffic for their livelihood and so they were more aggressive than I like. The unfortuate part is the real estate along the shoreline could be some of the most expensive in the world....it is really an idyllic location and just needs some infrastructure. We feel the same about Ecuador in many respects, where we've spent quite a bit of time. I hear people who went on excursions enjoyed them but they spent a lot of time in transit. So if you go to Puntarenas, I think the lesson is either do an excursion or set your expectations pretty low.

We got off the boat about 9 and we're back by noon and had a casual lunch on the Lido deck. Then I did something I haven't done in 20 years. I took a 2hr nap....on a chaise around the pool. It was amazing. I'd like to personally thank the 3 margaritas I had earlier for their part in making my nap the supreme event it was. I couldn't have done it without them. My plans to workout before dinner needed to be delayed till after the 7:30 show, which is where we currently are. Dinner was best so far. We went early and got a good table and good company. Eating so early is a small price to pay to get an assigned table and to make the 7:30 show.

I'm finishing up the blog now between the show and actually going to work out. I'm not going to break my streak. My pants don't have enough leeway for me to skip a workout. The comedian was great. They usually are. People on cruises generally provide a lot of good material for comedians to leverage. This group is no different. Meanwhile, my lovely wife is watching The Greatest Showman on the "movies under the stars" screen. One of our favorite features of princess cruises. I will join her when I'm done working out....because I earned a nightcap.....to help me sleep, of course
